What’s the deal for Islands? Considering the Copenhagen Accord and Leadership for a ‘green economy’
Wednesday, 10 February 2010
By John (Johnny) N. Telesford, Independent Researcher

Phew! A sigh of relief or disgust as the COP15 came to what may be described as a lack lustre climax in Copenhagen Sweden on Saturday 19th December, 2009. As the title of this commentary implies, my main focus will be on Islands and the group AOSIS that represented them at the summit. As we are aware Grenada led the AOSIS, over some concern about the number of participants that actually attended. Be this as it may, the AOSIS is a part of the larger group of the G-77; which consists of 130 Nations including the 43 AOSIS Nations. Stanford Simon claims that by opening in prayer the Tempo Turns Four concert, at the Grenada National Stadium he was doing the will of the Lord.

Many are asking who did he prayed to. Why was he there? Has the teaching of Christianity changed? Is Stanford Simon a true believer in the Lord or is he an opportunist seeking vain glory.

In this interview with the Barnacle, Stanford Simon responds to his critics “I am a pastor.”
