Grenada and Japan hold bilateral meeting
ImageTOKYO, Japan, September 1, 2010 - Foreign Affairs Minister Peter David on Wednesday met with his Japanese counterpart H.E Mr. Katsuya Okada as they discussed a wide range of issues including Climate Change, UN Security Council Reform among others.

The Grenadian Minister, who is in the Japanese capital to attend the Second CARICOM-Japan Ministerial Meeting, took the opportunity to thank the Government of Japan for the assistance they have made available so far, especially in the Fisheries Sector, Human Resource Development through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) programmes and in the area of Climate Change.

Mr. Okada said that Japan was pleased with Grenada’s leadership of Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) particularly at the COP15 and looks forward to their continued leadership at COP16 scheduled for Cancun, Mexico in December.

CARICOM places Competition Policy and Law in the spotlight

(CARICOM Secretariat, Turkeyen, Greater Georgetown, Guyana)     The importance of Competition Policy and Consumer Welfare in the regional integration process will be the focus of a seminar on Competition Policy and Law and Consumer Welfare to be held in Trinidad and Tobago at the Carlton Savannah Hotel on 12 April 2010.
 
Topics to be discussed at the one-day seminar include Competition Policy in CARICOM, Consumer Affairs and Consumer Protection Law and Policy.

The Competitive through Linkages Project to help support businesses

Castries, St. Lucia, 18th March, 2010 - As part of the program of support to businesses benefiting from the various interventions under the Competitiveness Through Linkages Project which the St Lucia Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture is currently implementing, A two island Business Mission has been planned. The Competitive through Linkages Project (CTL) is a project which the Chamber is implementing through its Business Development Unit.  The CTL Project is funded by the EU Banana Support Programme 2006 titled Economic Diversification (EU-ED) B-21.03.18, EuropeAid/127214/M/ACT/LC.

The winners of this year’s internationally acclaimed Commonwealth Writers’ Prize will be announced on 12 April in New Delhi, India. As the judges make their final decisions, the Commonwealth Foundation, together with the Prize sponsor, the Macquarie Group Foundation, is forming a coalition of writers and literacy campaigners to boost access to reading and writing around the world.
