LAUNCH OF THE GRENADA CONSULAR TOURISM AND TRADE OFFICE
ImageMinister for Foreign Affairs, Hon.  Peter David says Grenada is optimistic about plans by Trinidad and Tobago for the setting up of an Aircraft Maintenance Facility in Grenada. Plans to that effect have been announced by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Patrick Manning.
Minister David was speaking at the launch of the Grenada Consular Tourism and Trade Office in Trinidad.
He praised the Government of Trinidad for their consistent show of support towards Grenada, highlighting Trinidad’s, interest in the well being of Grenada particularly after the passage of hurricane Ivan.

Haiti and Trinidad’s Football Associations looking forward to some exciting football
 
Monday, June 8th, 2009: The second leg of the Digicel Kick Start Clinics is kicking off on Tuesday, June 9th, in Haiti, and preparation is well under way for the arrival of Head Coach, John Barnes, and his team.

Yves Jean-Bart, President of the Haiti Football Association, said today that his team has been working hard to ensure that the Digicel Kick Start Clinics are even bigger and better than last year, when two Haitian footballers were selected by John Barnes to travel to Sunderland AFC. This year, 30 Under 16 players will take part in the Clinics at the National Training Centre in Port-au-Prince.
 
President Jean-Bart said of the Clinics: “I am confident that you will see many talented players in the Under 16 category. Like many other countries in the Caribbean, football is the most popular sport in Haiti and Digicel is our biggest supporter of the development of the game. CHTA, CTO to Hold Largest Regional Investment Meeting at Puerto Rico Convention Center

CORAL GABLES, FL (June 8, 2009) - Building on the momentum achieved in recent years with a growing interest in Caribbean tourism development, the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA), in conjunction with the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), have announced the dates for the 14th Annual Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference (CHTIC) to be held May 4-6, 2010 at the state-of-the-art Puerto Rico Convention Center.

DIGICEL GROUP ACHIEVES 11% REVENUE GROWTH TO US$1.73 BILLION FOR THE YEAR ENDED MARCH 31, 2009

•    Records total customer numbers of 7.1 million across the Caribbean and El Salvador
•    34% subscriber growth across all 31 Digicel markets worldwide


KINGSTON, JAMAICA - Monday 8th June 2009 –
Digicel, the largest telecommunications operator in the Caribbean and recent entrant to the Central American market, today announced that revenues for its fiscal year ended 31 March 2009 were $1.73bn, up 11% on the previous year. Subscribers rose 9% to 7.1 million.

Digicel’s full year EBITDA margin rose to 40%, indicating the maturing of its successful rollouts in markets including El Salvador and Trinidad & Tobago - and demonstrating Digicel’s track record of profitable expansion, combining strong revenue growth with tight control of costs.

These numbers relate to Digicel Group Limited which operates in 24 markets in the Caribbean and in El Salvador.
