DIGICEL GROUP ACHIEVES 11% REVENUE GROWTH TO US$1.73 BILLION FOR THE YEAR ENDED MARCH 31, 2009

•    Records total customer numbers of 7.1 million across the Caribbean and El Salvador
•    34% subscriber growth across all 31 Digicel markets worldwide


KINGSTON, JAMAICA - Monday 8th June 2009 –
Digicel, the largest telecommunications operator in the Caribbean and recent entrant to the Central American market, today announced that revenues for its fiscal year ended 31 March 2009 were $1.73bn, up 11% on the previous year. Subscribers rose 9% to 7.1 million.

Digicel’s full year EBITDA margin rose to 40%, indicating the maturing of its successful rollouts in markets including El Salvador and Trinidad & Tobago - and demonstrating Digicel’s track record of profitable expansion, combining strong revenue growth with tight control of costs.

These numbers relate to Digicel Group Limited which operates in 24 markets in the Caribbean and in El Salvador.

LIME READY FOR 2009 HURRICANE SEASON

Grenada – June 1, 2009 – With the official start of the hurricane season on June 1, LIME, the premier telecommunications company in the region is assuring its customers that it is fully prepared for any eventuality. Playing its part to ensure that its customers are likewise prepared, the company has announced a major awareness campaign through a combination of useful information and exciting offers

The campaign which begins on June 1, includes a detailed leaflet with important hurricane tips and guidelines which will be distributed free of cost to customers  The bi-fold leaflet will also include a hurricane tracking map, the names of the 2009 hurricanes and special offers from LIME. Public Service Announcements and interviews will also form part of the education and awareness campaign during the hurricane season.

PRIME MINISTER COMMENTS ON THE RENAMING OF LAURISTON AIRPORT

Prime Minister Hon. Tillman Thomas says his decision to announce on Tuesday, the renaming of the Lauriston Airport in Carriacou after former Prime Minister Herbert Blaize was because the decision was made by Cabinet at its Monday, February 23rd, 2009 meeting.
 
The cabinet meeting on which the Prime Minister was reporting to the media, did not
discuss the renaming of the Point Saline International Airport. That decision was made at a cabinet meeting months before.
 
It was not the intention of Prime Minister Thomas to withhold information or mislead the Grenadian public.
