Caribbean’s leading mobile provider supports relief efforts in Haiti, Jamaica and Turks & Caicos Islands

September 17, 2008, Kingston, Jamaica – Digicel, the largest mobile company in the Caribbean and new entrant to the Central America market, has pledged over US$1.3 million to support the relief efforts across the Caribbean in the wake of recent Hurricanes Gustav, Hanna and Ike.

JOHN BARNES NAMED NEW REGGAE BOYZ COACH

Head Coach for the 2008 Digicel Kick Start Clinics, John Barnes, will take over as Reggae Boyz coach effective November 1, 2008
 
Wednesday, September 17; Kingston, Jamaica: The JFF announced yesterday, the appointment of former England International and Jamaican born, John Barnes as the new National Coach for the Senior Football Team. John Barnes will take up official duties on November 1 and will be in charge of the preparation of the national team for the Digicel Caribbean Cup (DCC) between December 1 to 15, the CONCACAF Gold Cup scheduled for June 2009, and the Final Round of World Cup Qualifiers in 2009, should Jamaica advance to this stage of the competition, the JFF will review Barnes' contract following the afore-mentioned events.

Minister of Tourism Hon. Peter David and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Mrs. Arlene Buckmire-Outram met with officials of Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina on Tuesday September 9th 2008 to discuss plans for the Marina in Grenada. On site to receive the Minister were General Manager Clyde Rawls, Marketing and Sales Coordinator Danny Donelan and Project Manager Robin Swaisland. The Camper & Nicholsons team briefed the Minister and his permanent Secretary extensively on the progress of the project.
