Nurses prepares for 2nd Annual Total Health Conference |

Tuesday October 23th 2007, St. George’s; Over one hundred Grenadian nurses are expected to participate in the 2nd annual Total Health Conference which takes place tomorrow Wednesday October 24th 2007 at the Deluxe Cinema, Grenville St. Andrew’s. The conference which is the second of its kind to take place in Grenada since its inception last October seeks to address a number of social and medical issues including, teenage pregnancy, asthma, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cervical cancer and gastro-internal issues as well as other health related issues.

The HIV virus is spread through unprotected sex and anyone can be at risk. This is the message of the National AIDS Directorate as the organization strives to deal with the apparent continued indifference to the very real dangers of HIV and AIDS among members of the local populace. The reality according to the Director of the National AIDS Directorate, Mrs. Caroline Alexis-Thomas is that HIV and AIDS is increasing in Grenada and this increase is being maintained by people refusing to change their sexual behavior. |

St. George's, Grenada – (Monday, July 16 th 2007) - The International Organization of Standardization for Quality has recognized, accredited and registered Island Health Services as a Quality Management System which complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 for "the provision of hemodialysis to patients with end stage renal disease." Island Health Services from its inception in November 2006, has been successfully treating dialysis patients and in addition, has been determined to overcome the obstacles of providing quality, international level healthcare in Grenada. As a result we embarked on a project to achieve ISO accreditation. |

This message that General manager Mr. Michael Campbell and the Communal Cooperative Credit Union wanted to get out seemed well received at a recent health fair organized by the credit union. Hundreds of Communal members and members of the public at large turned out at the national Insurance Scheme car park on Saturday march, 24 to avail themselves of the wide range of screening and counseling services that were available free of charge. |
