ImageThe New Year greeted we the people with the news that Peter de Savary  had sold Port Louis Marina to world renowned Camper & Nicholson for US$24million.  Peter De Savary and his counterpart from Camper and Nicholson were on CC6’s first 2008 You Decide Programme , confirming this fact.  Campers and Nicholson confirmed that they had acquired the following from De Savary’ ‘s Port Louis Land Ltd. and Port Louis Trading Ltd.:

An altogether worrying business this declaration by minister Elvin Nimrod that after God Prime Minister Keith Mitchell is the person he reverences the most, so you see where this is heading.

One gets to wondering too whether he put God first condescendingly just to be in keeping with the whole evangelical tone of the NNP convention/religious crusade/bad talk fest at the Grenada Trade Center.

Recognizing the need to develop the nation’s human resources with some considerable haste the concern is where does the education system go from here.
With an increasing number of children attaining school age both primary and secondary the problem of where to put them becomes more pressing and solutions are being considered, especially the question more schools or bigger schools.

ImageWhether agriculture should take pride of place in Grenada’s development thrust or whether the preference should be given to tourism is still hotly argued but all agree that the development of agriculture is important.
The question is “is agriculture for export, for domestic consumption or both? If both, where should the priority be and what has to be done to build on that priority?
Any present or future government is faced with an intimidating task to chart a practical way forward for Grenada’s agriculture.
