NaDMA stages motorcade

The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) on Sunday staged what by all accounts appeared to have been another successful round the island motorcade.

The motorcade, one of the activities of Disaster Awareness Week, was also timed to coincide with the start of the Hurricane season.

Shelter list to be released

ImageThe National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) says the list of Hurricane shelters for the 2007 Atlantic season will soon be released.

NaDMA Coordinator Sylvan McIntyre making the announcement during a news Conference at the agency’s head office at Fort Frederick’s is also asking persons to exercise patience. “We are hoping very soon to release the names of those buildings” McIntyre said.

CDERA SAYS GRENADA IS DISASTER READY

ImageThe Regional Disaster Coordinator says signs are emerging that Grenada is taking Disaster Management much more seriously than before Hurricane Ivan struck two and a half years ago.

Jerry Collymore, the head of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Response Agency, CDERA, was addressing Tuesday’s first ever Hurricane Preparedness conference at the Trade Center .

Against The Wind
