Readers and subscribers of the Ottawa Life Magazine and Canada’s second largest newspaper, the National Post, will eventually be able to peruse articles about Grenada and its various appeals as a tourist destination. This will be possible because of the current visit of travel writers who have been commissioned by both publications to write about their experiences in Grenada.

John Ronald Donovan and Mary John Donovan are the editor and photographer respectively from Ottawa Life Magazine, which has a circulation of 60,000 mainly top calibre public sector workers like Senators and Assembly members. Their Grenada visit is to research and compose an article for publication in the September issue of the magazine, which is also circulated among embassy and technology industries, and is carried as an insert in the Globe and Mail for the Ottawa area.

Representing The National Post in their current Grenada visit is Mr. Sean Mallen who is a travel and political journalist from the Global Television Network.  He will be exploring Grenada as a Caribbean Family destination, along with the ecological and natural attractions that make it ideal for family vacations. Like the Ottawa Life Magazine, his article will also be published in the National Post during the last quarter of 2009.

The Grenada Board of Tourism is pleased for the cooperation received from the Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association to provide the necessary support to enable the materialization of these important opportunities to promote Grenada in Canada. Their visit comes at a time when there is excitement about the fact that Grenada’s visitor arrivals from Canada experienced an increase of 11.63% in 2008 compared to 2007. This performance has elevated Canada’s rating as the fourth largest source market for Grenada. Hosting travel writers at this time therefore serves to lay the foundation for this good performance to continue into the foreseeable future.
