SPICE ISLE TOASTMASTERS CLUB INSTALLS NEW OFFICERS PDF Print E-mail

On Saturday June 27th, 2009, the newly elected executive officers of the Spice Isle Toastmasters Club were installed at an Installation & Recognition Ceremony held at La Heliconia, Point Salines, St. George’s.  

The new officers installed were Dawnette Calliste - President, Ria Delves - Immediate Past President / Vice President Education, Natasha Grainger - Vice President Membership, Lucille Sylvester - Vice President Public Relations, Nicholita Hoschtialek - Secretary, Dawn Walker - Treasurer and Arlene Oluonye - Sargeant at arms.
At an emotional ceremony, the outgoing President – Ria Delves – thanked the executive and all club members who contributed to the successes that the club attained.  She especially recognised the club’s achievement in attaining the Select Distinguished Club Award, an award proffered by Toastmasters International to clubs for outstanding achievements in meeting seven out of ten set goals.  Three Toastmasters were congratulated on their personal achievement namely Alana Wilson and Hillary Baptiste on achieving both the Competent Leader and Competent Communicator awards and Judith DeCoteau-Leid on achieving the Competent Communicator award.

The ceremony was further enhanced by the presence of Senator the Honourable Franca Bernadine, Minister of Education & Human Resources, who conducted the installation ceremony and installed the new executive.  Tokens of appreciation were presented to all club members present in recognition of and appreciation for their invaluable contribution towards the success of the Club.

Thanks were also expressed to the outgoing executive officers - Ria Delves, President, Hillary Baptiste, Vice President Education, Lawrence Lambert CBE, Vice President Membership, Delon Felix, Vice President Public Relations, Margot Holas, Secretary, Nicholita Hoschtialek, Treasurer and Andrea Felix, Sargeant at Arms - who as charter members and charter officers were instrumental in laying the strong foundation upon which the incoming team would build and help the club grow even stronger.

The new Toastmaster year begins on July 1, 2009.
