ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, TUESDAY, AUGUST 17th, 2009 – There has been an improvement in the pass rate in the June 2009 CXC (CSEC) Examinations. The pass rate is 65.55% as compared to 62% in 2008. 3,265 candidates registered to write the CXC (CSEC) examinations in May/June 2009. 1,656 were students attending schools and 1,609 were private candidates. There were 12,887 subject entries. Overall passes include 1,070 Grade one, 2,887 Grade two, and 2,613 Grade three. Subjects with the highest percentage passed were Mechanical Engineering Technology (100%), Physical Education and Sport (97.07%), Home Economics Management (94.18%), Food and Nutrition (91.92%) and Integrated Science (91.57%).
