The de Savary Group is embarking on a multi-million dollar beautification campaign of the Morne Rouge hotel belt. The campaign is designed to make Morne Rouge one of the most attractive hotel belts in the region. "This area is already naturally beautiful and by assisting with the landscaping and careful manicuring, Morne Rouge will no doubt be the envy of all. We intend to work and encourage other hoteliers in the area, the police and other businesses to improve the general condition of Morne Rouge. We want Morne Rouge to be a model for Grenada setting new standards in luxury, beauty and comfort," said Mr. Peter De Savary.
The work on the area will include landscaping of the Mount Cinnamon property and its environs, refurbishment and beautification of the South St. George Police Station and improvement of the beach facilities. Commissioner of Police Winston James described the initiative by the de Savary Group as a very ge nerous and community minded one. "We intend to assist in any way we can to make this project a success. A big part of our job will be enforcement after the project is completed and we will ensure that the peace and beauty of the area are maintained," Commissioner James remarked. The Flamboyant Hotel is also delighted to partner with the group in the beatification of the area. Mr. Lawrence Lambert CBE said; "We know that this will be beneficial to our tourism industry in Grenada and we welcome Mr. de Savary and his team as we strive to create a more welcoming environment for our guests." The de Savary Group is currently developing the Mount Cinnamon property, formerly Cinnamon Hill, in the Morne Rouge area. When completed the property will be a five star luxury resort focused on attracting families. The first phase of the project will be completed in time to host visitors for Cricket World Cup 2007.
