Wednesday, May 16, 2007, St. George’s: The Ministry of Economic Development and Planning in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will be hosting an Inception Workshop for the Grenada Second National Communication Project on Climate Change at 9:00 a.m. on May 17, 2007 at the Flamboyant Hotel, Grand Anse, St. Georges.

 
The Second National Communication project seeks:
 
to report on Grenada Greenhouse gas emissions;
 
strengthen the technical and institutional capacity of organizations involved in the assessment, implementation and monitoring of climate change;
 
Develop and implement a public awareness programme on climate change, among other activities.
 
The project is being implemented in fulfillment of Grenada’s obligations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.   
 
The workshop is intended to provide information to key stakeholders on the project and the benefits that will be derived.  
 
It is expected that at the end of the session stakeholders will be aware of the project activities and the role of their organization in the project implementation.
 
The Ministry requests full participation from all invited stakeholders.
