Grenada's Newest Senator sworn in |

 Monday June 4th 2007, St. George’s: Grenada’s newest member of the Senate, Hon. Carl Caton, was sworn in on Friday June 1st at the Governor General’s Residence. Senator Caton, who will serve as Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, started his term as a Senator by thanking God for guidance. He also thanked the Prime Minister, Government Ministers, Members of the St. Patrick’s East constituency and all his friends and family for their support and confidence in him. Senator Caton said he would be a servant of the people and pledged to work with farmers and Fishermen throughout Grenada to develop agriculture. He stated that he knew that there was a lot of work to be done but told the gathering of Government Ministers and well wishers that he was up to the challenge. In his remarks Prime Minister Mitchell underlined the importance of agriculture in the development of the entire country and stressed the need for an aggressive approach to address the concerns of farmers and fishermen.
