A new Water Treatment Plant is presently being constructed to service the Grand Etang National Park. The project which is being funded by the Government of Grenada started on Moday and is expected to be completed by July 31st 2007.

According to project engineer Mr. Lauriston Hosten the plant is vital since it is going to supply portable water to the Grand Etang National Park. He said that the water will be pumped form the lake by a new electrical water pump which has been installed in Nawasa's existing pump house.

The plant is strategically placed at the top of Morne Labaye Lookout, the highest point of the park to enhance the distribution process.

The plant is expected to hold Three Thousand (3000) Gallons of water and the project is being executed by the National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA).
