The Grenada Public Service Co-operative Credit Union is again proving to be the institution of choice in terms of benefits to its membership.  At a ceremony at the Credit Union office held Wednesday 12th September 2007; three persons were awarded under the Joseph Bain Scholarship Award Scheme, and three more the Secondary School Scholarship Awards.

Khan La Touche, the top awardee was presented with his cheque through his mother, Mrs. Lucia La Touche, since his is currently pursuing his final year of his Bachelor’s Degree at Mid- Western State University in Wichita Falls Texas. Khan La Touche is an exemplary student who is also the president of SOCA, the campus based Caribbean Students’ Association.

Paula Phillip, a student of the UWI School of Continuing Studies, is currently continuing her studies in Management Studies and Tweedale Peterkin, a member studying with the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) through the T.A Marryshow Community College were both awarded grants under the Joseph Bain Scholarship Award Scheme.

The Grenada Public Service Credit Union also added three more awarded to its Secondary Scholarship Award Scheme. These students will receive this award every term for the rest of their secondary academic life. The awardees for this year were Candice Brown, Kemasha Livingston and Rochelle Franklyn. They join the ranks of the children of other members who have benefited from the program.

After 60 years of operation, the credit union continues to offer its members quality products and services. The Credit Union launched its 60 in 60 Promotion this year in celebration of this milestone. Members can bring in new member and be awarded $60.00 for every 6th member to earn an entry in the $60,000 draw.

New Members can also benefit from the plan since they can earn an entry by just saving at the credit union, it’s that easy! For every $1000.00 they save in our Regular Share Account, Education Savings Plan, 3 year Fixed Deposit & Retirement savings Plan they can earn an entry into the draw as well.
