The conference which is the second of its kind to take place in Grenada since its inception last October seeks to address a number of social and medical issues including, teenage pregnancy, asthma, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cervical cancer and gastro-internal issues as well as other health related issues.
Chief Nursing Officer in the Ministry of Health Nester Edwards says, they are expecting a major turnout of over three hundred persons from St. Andrew’s to attend the conference. She said the conference is free and persons should see the initiative as a means of learning more about their health.
The conference is hosted by the Nurses Associations of Grenada and the American and Canadian based, Grenada Carriacou Petite Martinique Nurses Association in conjunction with the Ministry of Health and will be held from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
Last year the conference attracted several adults and young people including school children from St. George’s, who participated in the open discussions on various health-related topics.
