Monday January 21, 2008, St. George’s: On two occasions Foreign Minister Elvin Nimrod spoke to standing room only crowds as he addressed Grenadians in Brooklyn New York.  Minister Nimrod updated his audience on the continuing progress in Grenada and the many development projects which the Government had implemented. At one point the receptive crowd chanted, “Don’t stop the progress, and don’t stop the progress.  Grenadians openly stepped forward and complimented the efforts of the Government to move Grenada forward.

Grenadians expressed satisfaction in the initiatives of the Government of Grenada to build the human resource capacity of the country. They praised the Government’s effort in the areas of youth training and particular reference was made about the significance of the Imani and GTEP programmes, and the significant number of scholarships being awarded to Grenadians.

There were also many compliments given to the Government for improving the support services for the elderly, and the strengthening of the infrastructure of the country.

“I am gratified by your show of support and I thank you for your encouragement,” said Minister Nimrod, “your contributions will only serve to make us work harder.”
