The original NISSAN X-TRAIL was launched in October 2000.  Since its introduction, the X-TRAIL has proven an exceptional success, exceeding Nissan Motor’s annual sales projections year after year.  In the wake of this achievement, Nissan has produced a formidable successor to this model, which is currently available at Huggins Automotive Division.

Changes in the new X-Trail are evolutionary rather than revolutionary.  Nissan has lent itself to the opinions and recommendations of current X-Trail and small SUV owners and has developed its new model in keeping with same.  The 2007 X-Trail features a new chassis and body design, as well as an expanded range of more powerful engines providing better performance and economy.  There’s more cabin space, a much larger trunk area and greatly enhanced interior quality and aesthetic appeal.

A SUPERIOR INTERIOR!
Better quality materials and a more sophisticated cabin layout can be found inside the new X-Trail.  Further, this vehicle now boasts a ‘best-in-class’ luggage area!  The cargo space is considerably bigger than before and features a clever drawer which slides under a false floor to provide secure storage for valuables.  These improvements are dramatic!

A THOUGHTFUL EXTERIOR
It is very important to be able to handle your X-Trail in any conditions, whether during a rainy season downpour or after having some fun in the mud.  Visibility from the driver’s seat has been thoughtfully improved as a result of changes in the bonnet design.  A lower waistline and large windows ensure clear visibility and easy driving in any situation.

LET’S GO OFF - ROADING? OR NOT …
As compared with its predecessor, the new X-Trail offers better on-road manners, compliments the adoption of the ‘Alliance C-Platform’ which dictates a more refined and stable ride.  Its off-road ability?  Superior!  As well as reinforcing the X-TRAIL’s off-road capability, Nissan’s latest ALL MODE 4x4-i system ensures that the dynamic performance on-road is stable, secure and predictable.   The new  X-Trail features unique selling points such as its hill descent control and hill start assist functions.  The former is designed to assist the driver in keeping a constant slow speed (about 7 Km/h) when descending a steep or slippery slope without incurring tyre lock.  Hill start assist applies the brakes for a few seconds, allowing you enough time to switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards.

WHAT’S UNDER THE BONNET?
A 2.5L petrol engine is available which has been refined for greater torque, improved performance and economy.  2.0L diesel units will also be offered.

An appointment for a test drive of the new X-Trail can be made with any of the sales representatives at Huggins Automotive Division.
