Contract signed for Rock Fall Project |

The rock fall component of the Disaster Mitigation and Restoration Rock fall and Landslip Project will commence by February end. The Government of Grenada (Ministry of Works) and Canadian company, Janod Ltd (Contractor) signed the contract for the Rock fall remediation works at a press conference in St George’s on Tuesday February 11, 2008 for the commencement of the project.
Melville Street and Concord/Cotton Bailey are the two areas selected where remedial work will be undertaken to reduce the risk of rock fall events in these two areas. The proposed remedial works will include the following activities: Temporary fencing during construction for safety of road users Removal of vegetation and loose rocks Grouting of rocks Drilling and installation of rock anchors Ring nets installation The cost of this project is EC$6.35 Million and is funded by the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB). Consultancy will be provided by Dessau Soprin International.
