RETAILERS WARNED ABOUT SELLING COOKING GAS FOR MORE THAN MORE THE STIPULATED PRICE PDF Print E-mail

It has been brought to the attention of the Energy Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Forestry and Fisheries, that some retailers have been selling a 20 lb cylinder of cooking gas above the approved price of $41.74.
 
Consumers are hereby reminded that since 22nd February, 2008, there has been NO CHANGE in the price of a 20 lb cylinder of cook gas.
 
Consumers are encouraged to report any such abuse to the Price Control/Consumer Affairs Unit of the Ministry of Finance at telephone number 440-2990 or 440-2731.
 
Retailers found engaging in this practice could be prosecuted.
 
The Energy division has been monitoring the rise in the prices of Petroleum Products on the international market and will be required to adjust prices, based on the global circumstances.
 
All consumers are encouraged to continue to act wisely to conserve and use energy efficiently.
