ACM Congratulations to New PAJ Executive PDF Print E-mail

The Association of Caribbean MediaWorkers (ACM) extends its congratulations to Byron Buckley on his election as President of the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ).
“We look forward to working with Byron and his team and stand ready to assist in his efforts to promote the interests of Jamaican journalists,” ACM President, Wesley Gibbings said.

Gibbings described the PAJ as a “special, longstanding organisation with an impressive history of media development in Jamaica .”

He commended former President, Desmond Richards, for his service over four terms in office and noted his “outstanding work during recent national discussions on reforming the country’ defamation laws.”

“It is our hope that Byron will now help bring the Jamaican media community in closer communion with the Caribbean journalistic fraternity and play a greater leadership role in shaping a regional agenda for journalistic excellence,” Gibbings said.
