DIGICEL HAITI WELCOMES NEW CEO DAMIAN BLACKBURN

Kingston, Jamaica – Wednesday 25th January 2012. Digicel, the best value operator in the Caribbean, Central America and the Pacific, today announced that Damian Blackburn, formerly CEO of Digicel Honduras, will assume the role of CEO of Digicel Haiti and Group Director of Special Projects effective immediately.

A telecoms industry veteran with over fourteen years experience, Damian joined Digicel Group three and a half years ago as Group Operational Development Director. He was then promoted to the role of Regional CEO which saw him overseeing twelve Caribbean markets before moving to Honduras in October 2010 to lead the Digicel business there until its acquisition by America Movil in November 2011. Prior to joining Digicel, Damian held senior management positions with Virgin Mobile, BT Group and Vodafone in the Europe. In his new role, Damian will report directly to Digicel Group CEO, Colm Delves.

Monday, December 19th 2011 – Kingston, Jamaica: Today, the Under-17s WICB Grassroots Cluster Games come to a close with participants from nine Caribbean countries taking part, all part of the West Indies Cricket Board Digicel Grassroots Cricket Programme which is reinvigorating youth cricket across the Caribbean.

Aspiring young cricketers in Grenada, BVI, St. Lucia, Anguilla, St. Vincent, Monserrat, Dominica, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Antigua played friendly games between their communities and clubs, brought together and hosted by the WICB and Digicel.
