After huge success at the Caribbean Triathlon championships in Tobago in May this year, the Grenada National Triathlon Team will be heading to Barbados to compete in the next event in the Caribbean Triathlon Union racing circuit. The race is being held at Brighton beach along the Spring Garden highway and will feature the sprint (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run) and Olympic (1500m swim, 40km bike, 10 km run) distances at 6am on Sunday the 10th October. This annual International Triathlon is a very fast and popular course bringing top athletes from the region, North America and Europe.
Five athletes will be making the trip to represent Grenada; Aislinn Noel (current National sprint champion), Ric Hallam, Mark Scott, Mike Quinn and Danny Donelan, who recently returned from a 3rd place finish in the Staten Island triathlon in NY. “The entire team has shown tremendous improvements in ability, technique and consistency over the last 5 months and should all improve their performances significantly” said national coach, Marc DeCaul, who will be travelling to Barbados with the team this Friday 8th Oct.
We would like to wish the team the best of luck.
