PETER "CHAMPIE" EVANS' JULIA WINS THE GIRL PAT TROPHY

St. George's, Grenada –The GIRL PAT TROPHY, known in regional yachting circles as the oldest ocean race in the southern Caribbean - was won by Peter “Champie” Evans, and his Crew on March 30th 2012 - in an astonishing time of 7hrs:57mins:40secs.  This New Record broke the previous fastest time by half an hour.

The jubilant, and almost entirely Grenadian crew included Patrick Andrews, Jonathan Beaubrun, Jacqueline Evans and Italian Michele Marelli.

The yacht JULIA, a Nautor Swan 48, delivered this win in the finest of sailing styles.  Dubbed a “Horizon Job”, this sleek yachting craft took the GIRL PAT TROPHY win, way before her closest competitor could even be seen on the horizon.
