OVER 200 YOUTHS CELEBRATE CARIBBEAN ENDEMIC BIRD FESTIVAL

ST. GEORGE, GRENADA, MAY 06, 2013_ More than 200 Youths from Grenada’s Girl Guide and Boy Scout Association, showcased placards and chants for the protection of the Grenada Dove, during the Caribbean Endemic Bird Festival march.

The march, which was organized by the Forestry & National Parks Department and the Grenada Dove Conservation Programme, was held on April 26th to mark the Caribbean Endemic Bird Festival (CEBF) 2013.

STUDENTS SAFE WITH UNITED INSURANCE

United Insurance has once again provided support to the students of the T.A. Marryshow Community College, as they travel to Barbados to undertake internships at The Crane Resort.  When the thirty-eight (38) students of the College make the trip to Barbados to further their studies, they do so without worry thanks to United Insurance.  This is because United Insurance, for the third consecutive year, has donated the travel insurance which provides full coverage for the group of students on their trip to Barbados, May 3 to August 7, 2013.

RELOCATION OF VAT OFFICE TO FINANCIAL COMPLEX

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA Friday, May 03, 2013: The Ministry of Finance hereby advises the general public that effective Monday 6th May, 2013, the Cash Collection Section at the VAT Office will no longer be in operation. This is due to the relocation of the VAT Unit to the Financial Complex.

As a result, individuals conducting business with the Inland Revenue Division can make payments of all taxes and licences at the main office located at the Financial Complex, Carenage, St. Georges or any District Revenue Office throughout the tri-island state.

THE GRENADA HOTEL & TOURISM ASSOCIATION MEETS WITH MINISTER OF TOURISM

The Board of Directors of the Grenada Hotel and Tourism Association this morning met with the Minister of Tourism at which plans for the development of Grenada’s tourism industry was discussed.

The Minister assured the GHTA that she has been working diligently since taking office; to build the framework for ensuring that visitors to Grenada gets the experience they expect, and this will only come through  promoting the best of Grenada and understanding the culture of the visitors being marketed to.

THE GRENADA HOTEL & TOURISM ASSOCIATION SPEAKS ON THE NATIONAL BUDGET ANNOUNCED BY THE GOVERNMENT

The Grenada Hotel & Tourism Association is pleased by the knowledge that the 2013 National Budget has been approved by Parliament and that the Governor General has given the required assent.

The Association looks forward to seeing major development in the tourism industry in order to realise a world class product which will enable real growth nationwide. 

In particular the GHTA is happy that the Government recognises the need for a new marketing plan using modern tools to reach targeted audiences for niches markets.
