DIGICEL CONTINUES ITS ENDORSEMENT AND SUPPORT OF KNOWLEDGE BOWL

Monday 15th April 2013- St. George’s :Digicel for the second year provided support encouragement for the teachers and coaches who assisted students in the recently concluded and extremely popular secondary schools quiz competition, Knowledge Bowl.

Dubbed the “Intercol of Academia,” the competition attracts competitors from 4th and 5th forms in all public and private secondary schools in Grenada, Petite Martinique and Carriacou who compete on their knowledge of educational topics.

CHINA AGREES TO PAY AFTER DELMA THOMAS SAVES THE DAY

April 16th, 2013: The New national Party Government is already making major inroads in dealing with the housing crisis among low income Grenadians. Within weeks of being put in charge of the Housing Ministry the Hon Delma Thomas has successfully negotiated with the Chinese government to complete the Mt Gay Housing Project at no addition cost to the government. Friday Minister Thomas signed an important agreement with Acting Chinese Ambassador Chen Ribiao, to spend $3.6 million to complete essential aspects of the Housing Project.

We, the members of the National Democratic Congress, have studied the Budget Presentation and are here to provide preliminary comments at this time.

After 4 ½ years of RIGOROUS OPPOSITION ANALYSIS, the current Government was fully apprised of the economic situation.  NDC sees the 2013 Budget as NOT IN KEEPING with the ELECTION CAMPAIGN RHETORIC put on by the New National Party.

SANDALS RETAINS FIVE-STAR RATING

St. George's Grenada, April 17, 2013 - Sandals Resorts International, which is due to open its first resort in Grenada in December of this year, has swept the five diamond star accolades.

The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences bestowed 23 of its top five and six star rating to various Sandals resorts, villas, restaurants and Island Routes Tours in the Caribbean.

US-BASED GROUP HELPING GRENADA, CARIBBEAN PENN RELAYS’ ATHLETES

New York, April 14, 2013 – The Grenada team participating in this month’s Penn Relays in the United States will receive sponsorship support from the US-based Team Jamaica Bickle (TJB).

Since 1994, TJB has played a leading role in the development, care and hospitality of Jamaican and other Caribbean athletes attending the games at the University of Pennsylvania.

TJB’s assistance helps to reduce costs for the visiting regional athletes, coaches and families.

Last year, for the first time ever, Grenada was represented at the Penn Relays by an athletic team from Westerhall Secondary School.
