THE CARIBBEAN (April 4, 2012) – The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) has entered into a Strategic Partnership with Henkell & Co., a long established and award-winning producer of quality European wines. The agreement will provide CHTA members with access to Henkell &Co. quality brands:
- Henkell Trocken Sparkling
- Alfred Gratien French Champagne
- Menger-Krug Estate Bottled Sparkling Wines
- Deinhard Rieslings and Pinot Noir
CHTA members will be offered “special” pricing for Henkell & Co.’s brands via a network of exclusive distributors across the Caribbean to service demand from the hospitality industry for these renowned labels.
"Over the last few years, the international perception and profile of Caribbean cuisine has improved considerably and our partnership with Henkell & Co will enhance this further.” said Alec Sanguinetti, director general and CEO of CHTA.
"We're excited about our new partnership with the Caribbean hospitality industry and look forward to working closely with CHTA’s hotel members to ensure that their guests are well cared for during their dining experiences in the Caribbean," said Klaus Kuerten, International Export Director, Henkell & Company.
Menger-Krug Sparkling wines are found at the top restaurants, clubs and hotels throughout Europe and Asia, as well as on business class flights of Emirates Air and Lufthansa. The brand is new to the Caribbean, but has already been enthusiastically embraced by several Ritz-Carlton properties.
Henkell Trocken Sparkling wines have been appreciated in the Caribbean for many years and today are served in many fine Caribbean restaurants and hotel properties. Cayman Airways is also proud to serve Henkell Trocken Sparkling on all flights.
The Champagne House of Alfred Gratien has a long tradition that disregards the mass-produced ethos remaining true to their commitment of "hand-crafted" champagne that represents the best quality and a unique and memorable style.
Henkell & Co. also produces an impressive selection of German Reisling wines and an expressive-bodied Pinot Noir under the Deinhard label, now celebrating over 150 years of wine history from its home in Koblenz, the “German Corner” where the Mosel and Rhine rivers meet.
CHTA Strategic Partners are leading organizations and companies involved in a wide range of industry sectors and activities in the Caribbean. While each plays a unique role and brings to the table its own individual benefits and specializations, all CHTA Strategic Partners share one common purpose – an unwavering commitment to the Caribbean hotel and tourism industry.
